Yet more changes on the way

Last few weeks where really exciting. Leadingcourses.com got the ‘Live’ status.
We sent out a press release which was picked up pretty well. Thanks to that we got a visitor boost. Still lots of people coming back to the site, again and again!

Apart from that, we received tons of feedback last weeks. One of those points was the way reviews had to be written. It was not entirely handy for everybody.

At this moment we are rewriting the code to make reviewing easier. Also adding photo’s is picked up at the same time.

The layout of the website got another minor update. What changes did we make? I’ll keep that silent for now. Check back soon and I’ll tell

More updates, again!

We did it again at LeadingCourses. More updates on the website.

Not only did our website get some minor update and efficiency updates, we also added some total new functionalities!

Now it is possible to add new golf clubs but we also added hotels and airports to LeadingCourses. Now you can find which airports and which hotels are closest to the golf course you want to play!

Finally more updates! Where did I play before?

Want to tell to your friends where you played? Now you can give them more proof!
At leadingcourses you now have an overview of golfclubs you have played before.. and the overview is plotted in a map! How cool is that?

In your control panel you can find the link to your profile page (on the right)

Furthermore we added some bugfixes, which where 1 minor and 2 not much

At the moment we are working on some cool new features.. so hang on!

Rating for Driving range, putting green and chipping area

Today we entered some new review fields. Now you can give a rating for the practice range of a golf club.
We have done this because we noticed people wanted to be even more specific while writing a review.

Forgot password? and much more!

Remember the post I did earlier about the forgot password functionality? Well I can inform you that it is nearly completed. We are running the latest security tests to make sure it is as safe as possible to make sure you get a new password.

When?

I can understand you can’t wait. Well, me too, but stuff like this should be tested carefully as we don’t want people to hijack another account. and…

We are planning a big release again! Since our latest release in may this year we haven’t been sleeping, so we implemented a lot of requests and ideas our visitors gave us (thank you all!) In this release the look-and-feel will slightly change to make navigating to a golf club or golf course much easier.

As you might have seen, the amount of golf clubs and golf courses on www.leadingcourses.com kept on growing and growing. Next to this we also prepared a new functionality on the website. What this exactly is, is still a secret and will not come with the coming release. It will be soon after the coming release.

Oh I nearly forgot!

In the coming release we will have a decent contact page, where you can fill in a form which will be sent to the right person instantly, ain’t that handy?

And don’t forget: we still want help to improve our website. If you have suggestions you can leave a comment.

New version launched

On Monday a new version was launched for Leadingcourses.com. Visitors will probably not have noticed much of the changes, but for us the changes are huge. Large parts of the back-end have been altered in order to be able to scale up even quicker and provide you with even more functionalities.

There are some changes however that will benefit visitors already, amongst which:

- strongly improved global search functionality
- help icons for all attributes (in all languages)
- improved navigation per region

We will launch some nice features for golfclubs soon, as they will be able to update their own information (like a Wiki).

So, we are on the move and getting up to speed!

Forgot password?

The LeadingCourses Team is alway looking to get a better user experience. Sometimes it happens that we take three steps, maybe a fourth and forget one small thing. Our team is not big and we are building in our time off. So it can happen, we forget a functionality now and than.

That is what happened with the “forgot password” functionality. We forgot it As from now I will commit myself making a safe “forgot password” functionality. I say safe as we want to make the site as safe as possible, we don’t save the passwords ourself, only a calculation. So we can never bring back the old password. We can’t even see it ourselves . We love safe!

If there is something you want to have in LeadingCourses.com, something technical, maybe some new golf clubs or golf courses, tell us, so we can put it at our todo list.

Golf reviews per user

It is now possible to view how many reviews a Leadingcourses member has written and what his/her average rating is. This might help you to see how positive or negative a member is, which could help you interpret the review. We hope you like this new functionality!

Have a look here to view some golf club reviews per user! Below every review the user is now clickable, this will bring you to all his members.

We are currently working hard to add all Belgian golf courses and clubs. We hope to finish that within this month! So, if you want to play golf in Belgium or if you live in Belgium, please have some patience!
